History

The "big bang" is widely regarded as being the moment when it all began (there are one or two other theories not mentioned here). The slow process of accretion eventually created the earth we all know and love, and in a relatively short timespan (regarded as being between 300 and 400 million years ago), the building blocks of life, enzymes, came into being.
