Copy editing
Despite the best efforts of writers, much copy presented to designers and publishers has something of a raw, unfinished feel to it. With brochure and web copy, it can impact upon the punchiness, the wit, the sense and your sales. In the case of a book, evidence of the writer's block-busting streams of consciousness often make it to final draft.
The copy editor is the second opinion, the advisor, nothing more. You always have the final say.
On-screen presence
Our editors are perfectly at home correcting copy on the screen. The speed at which raw text may be transformed into snug and grammatically pleasing copy and then rolled up and squeezed down the phone line is breathtaking.
Whether it's a Word document, a PDF or a web-bound file, we have ways of correcting it and, if necessary, allowing you to see what changes we've made so you can disagree with one of them just for the hell of it.
